While having followers is undoubtedly beneficial and I appreciate each and every one of you, it's a common myth that established writers achieve high engagement solely due to a large follower base. The truth is, everyone starts at zero before reaching their current level. So, what can you do to succeed? Here are five key strategies to focus on:

   Understand your craft and strive to be so exceptional that readers can't help but appreciate your efforts. Begin by being a reader yourself; identify what resonates with you on this platform and reflect that understanding in your writing to enrich your readers’ experience.

Here’s an example of how my own story gained traction on Medium thanks to this principle.

2. Conduct Detailed Analyses to Build Trust

   Always aim to add real value; avoid filler content that serves no purpose. Conduct thorough analyses to ensure that readers can trust and relate to your narrative. In a sea of seasoned writers, what makes your work compelling enough for others to read?

Ultimately, you don't need a vast follower count on Medium to thrive; what matters is your ability to stand out.
