The Art of Writing: Exploring the Neuromuscular Connection
Written on
Chapter 1: The Physicality of Writing
Writing is an intricate dance of my fingers on the keyboard. What do those movements convey? Each keystroke is unique, even if it echoes familiar sentiments. There’s a freshness in every phrase I type, a new heartbeat accompanying each word. This moment is distinct from the past, which breathed a different air into my thoughts.
The biological processes behind this are profound. My body, a complex machine, converts oxygen and carbon dioxide into creative energy, fueling my neuromuscular system. This allows messages to flow from my brain to the very fabric of my being—my bones and tissues. You might wonder how this relates to writing, but it is fundamentally interconnected.
While it may seem dull to discuss tissue and skeletal structures, these elements are far from irrelevant. They are the driving force behind the narratives that come alive on the page. Recently, I encountered advice to write about one’s passions, and indeed, this is mine. Every day, I awaken as a living organism, instinctively drawn to my computer, eager to write until something meaningful emerges.
I coined a term, "formacle," which describes a tangible expression rather than mere journaling. Sometimes, I indulge in free writing, but I aim for a polished piece that I can share with you. There’s a joy in crafting my own vocabulary, especially knowing that true writers can invent words without worrying about grammatical correctness.
The entire process fascinates me, this spontaneous eruption of creativity. While not everyone may resonate with this experience, I felt compelled to share this personal revelation. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
